Course Self Reflection


LSEC N307 course in general is about how to be professional in communication skills within the work environment. Through this course, I have improved several skills. For example, I overcame the fear when I start talking in the meetings, which is a really hard thing to achieve. Also, self-confident in presentations with load and clear voice.

Communication skills will be very useful in the future. To clarify, people who are willing to apply for a job, they must meet the Human Resource employees or the managers and conduct several meetings with them to know if they are suitable for the job. So, the meetings that we have done in the class will be extremely beneficial for the work and any other places, because we learned how to make an agenda for the meeting and how to take minutes during it, too.

Focusing on the work, people will encounter many difficulties in communication in business or work. For instance, some employees have problems talking to others, such as security people or even cleaners. To address these challenges, they should be taught the ways to communicate with the upper managements and other employees who are difficult to deal with.

Finally, this communication course taught me how to overcome these difficulties and I also learned how to write documents that the work need. To illustrate, every employee must have a CV to submit for the work in order to apply for a specific job. Furthermore, an application letter that describes the person who applied for the job and what he is willing to get, will come in handy for the company that doesn’t wish to get random or not qualified people.

In conclusion, I learned a lot in this course and I’m sure that it will be helpful in the future work.
